Q - What should my child wear to class?

A –Shorts, t-shirts, leggings, and gymnastics leotards are all acceptable. Gymnastics leotards are available for purchase at the club. Please, no crop tops, denim, belts, buckles, zippers, buttons, etc. Long hair must be tied back, and no jewelry is permitted except studs and sleeper earrings. **Update: Due to Covid-19 we ask that all athletes come already dressed in their gym attire as our change rooms are closed until further notice.

Q - How do I register my child?

A - You can register online through our website and/or by logging into your parent portal, or in person through the office during our office hours. For assistance, please email us at rec@quintebaygymnastics.com. If you are unable to login through the parent portal DO NOT create another account, please CALL the office for assistance. 

Q - Is there a viewing area?

A – Yes, we do have a viewing area located upstairs.  We ask viewers not to stand at the entrance door to the gym as this is a safety hazard.  There is ample viewing upstairs.  For safety reasons Quinte Bay Gymnastics does not allow parents or family members in the gym unless they are participating in a class between Ages 0.5-4, Kinder Drop-In, or Limitless Drop-In. We do allow accessibility viewing within the gym however, we require you to check in with the office prior to entering the gym for fire safety purposes.  **Update: Due to Covid-19 and strict regulations around building capacity all our viewing areas will remain closed until further notice.

Q - Where do we drop off and pick up our child?

A - Students under the age of 13 may not be dropped off or picked up outside of the building. 

Drop off is upstairs in the viewing area, where the coaches will collect their classes.  

Pick Up is in the lobby, parents must be in the lobby at dismal time. 

Classes begin and are dismissed promptly at their scheduled times. Please be sure your child gets into their class prior to leaving the facility. Parents must arrive 10 minutes prior to the end of their child's scheduled class ends. We are unable to supervise children prior to the start and following the end of their class time. 

Quinte Bay Gymnastics Club staff is responsible for children during their scheduled class time only. For any students picked up late, you may be subject to a $1.00/minute late fee that will automatically be applied to your account.

**Update: Our current protocols due to Covid-19 include one parent waiting with your child on our designated red painted lines along the sidewalk at the front of the building until our coaches greet you and allow your child to enter.  Pick up will occur in the same location. Currently we are not allowing spectators inside the facility.

Q - Is everyone required to take their shoes off when they go upstairs to the viewing area?

A – Yes, we ask that everyone take their shoes off even in the warmer, nicer weather.  Keep in mind all children are going up in bare feet and their little tootsies will appreciate not stepping on dirt and stones.  **Update: Due to Covid-19 and strict regulations around building capacity all our viewing areas will remain closed until further notice.

Q - How are monthly fees determined?

A - Monthly fees will be determined according to the actual number of classes for that month.  (Example: Tuesday classes in October have 5 active weeks (fees will be higher than the listed tuition fees, whereas in December there are only 3 active weeks and fees will be lower than the listed tuition fees.) **Update: Due to Covid-19, school schedules, etc we have opted to run classes for 2020-2021 in 3 blocks. The first block will run from September 21, 2020 to December 19, 2020 for a total of 13 weeks, the second block will run from January 4, 2021 to April 2, 2021 for a total of 12 weeks given there will be no classes during the March break then the third block will run from April 5, 2021 to June 26, 2021 for a total of 12 weeks. As such there will not be monthly fees but rather there will be a single fee for the class block. 

Q - Do you offer trial classes or drop-in classes before registration?

A - Yes, we do offer a trial class to new students only if space is available - this does not apply during peak registration in the fall. Please contact the office for more information or if you wish to enroll your child in a trial class, as we will only hold the spot for 48 hours.  **Update: Due to Covid-19 all trial options are on hold until further notice.

Q - How does payment work?

A - Tuition fees are due on or before the 1st day of each month. A $10 late fee will automatically be applied to all payments not received by the 7th day. Payment in full including late fees is required prior to the 2nd class or the child will not be admitted into class, which could result in termination of child's spot. 

Non-payment by the 20th of the month will result in automatic withdrawal from the program. 

NSF will be a charge of $25. 

Payment is due within 48 hours upon registering for classes and events. 

We do not offer makeup classes, refunds, or credits for missed classes. However, monthly fees will be adjusted for classes that are cancelled on behalf of the club, due to hosted meets and holidays. 

Make-ups will be available for club closures due to inclement weather.

Please Note: **Program Fees are subject to change with notice  ** Refunds will be subject to a $10 administrative fee

**Update: Due to Covid-19 we are not running our classes on a month to month basis but rather they will run in 3 separate blocks. All fees, including the Gymnastics Ontario registration fee, will be due in full within 48 hours of registering for the class.

Q - Do you offer Family Discounts?

A - Yes we are proud to offer discounts to families as well as multiple class discounts:

2nd child or 2nd class 10% off tuition fees 

3rd child or 3rd class 15% off tuition fees

4th child or 4th class 15% off tuition fees

Discounts will be applied to the lowest fees.

**Discount only applies to classes  (camps and other events do not apply).

Q - How do I withdraw my student?

A. School Year Session: Your spot is yours September to June unless we receive a WITHDRAWAL FORM.  

To withdraw from a recreational class an ONLINE Withdrawal Form, found on the website directly below the Parent Portal Login, must be completed and submitted by the 15th of the month PRIOR to the month your student wishes to leave. (Example: If your student wished to finish at the end of March the withdrawal form must be received prior to the 15th of February.)

**Update: Due to Covid-19 and the decision to run our classes in blocks you are welcome to withdraw from the class by submitting the online withdrawal form but there will be no refunds.

Q - What is your policy on refunds?

A - Quinte Bay Gymnastics Club requires the below for withdrawals** (no refunds unless minimum notice is given)

Private Lessons - 24 hours notice

PA Day Camp - 48 hours notice

Single Day Camp - 48 hours notice

Full Week Camp - 1 weeks notice

Birthday Parties - 50% deposit is non-refundable

** Refunds will be subject to a $10 administrative fee

Q - Can my child transfer to a different class?

A - Yes, space permitting, your child is welcome to transfer to an alternative class.

Please Note: A $10 administrative fee will apply for any changes to your registration.


Q - What if my child needs to switch their class due to a change in age?

A - If there is availability within the desired class, we will gladly make the switch for your child. If you know your child will be going up an age bracket, we recommend that you put them on a waitlist early on.  

**Update: For the 2020-2021 season we will be grouping athletes by year of birth rather than age which should alleviate the need to switch classes.


Q - Do you offer make-up classes or refunds for classes missed?

A - We do not offer make-up classes, refunds, or credits for missed classes.  However, fees are always adjusted for classes that are cancelled on behalf of the club due to hosted meets, holidays, etc.

Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be offered a make-up class (no monetary compensation), which must be used while the child is still actively enrolled in a class and used within 1 month from the date of issue.  The makeup class will be one where space is available. 

**Update: If QBGC must shut down due to Covid-19 or any other unforeseen reason, you will receive a credit on your account for any unused training fees, minus an administration fee.


Q - What about inclement weather?

A - Notifications regarding club closures due to inclement weather will be posted on our Website and Facebook Page. As well an email will be sent to all families.  As such it is extremely important that your contact information remain current.  **Please see above for make-up information.


Q - Do you offer Private Lessons?

A - Yes we do offer private lessons, more information can be found on our website under the tab “Birthdays, Camps & More”.


Q - When do you hold tryouts for your Competitive Gymnastics and Advanced Classes?

A - If your child is interested in pursuing an Advanced stream of gymnastics they will need to be tested.  More information can be found on our website under the tab “Classes” and then click on the link “Testing”.  Tryouts for our competitive team are held at the end of May or beginning of June every year.  Dates and times will be posted on the website once they are finalized.  

Please Note: There is $10 testing fee.

Q - How can I obtain a receipt?

A - Your transaction history can be obtained in the ‘billing and payments’ section under your Parent Portal Login or you can contact the office via email rec@quintebaygymnastics.com and our staff would be happy to provide you with a receipt.


Q - Can I request a specific coach/teacher?

A - We will do our best to accommodate you, however, there is no guarantee given that staffing decisions are based on scheduling.

Q - What cleaning measures have you put in place due to Covid-19?

A - We have made a lot of changes around the gym including increased signage to encourage physical distancing, increased hand washing, and physically distanced line ups.  Our team is working hard to ensure our facility is as clean as possible through enhanced cleaning measures between each station and group.  We have cleaning stations with logs located throughout the gym that are completed all day long.  We use a medical grade industrial fogger with anti-bacterial Health Canada approved disinfectant solution nightly to kill any Covid-19 germs.

Q - Do your coaches wear masks?

A - Yes, all our coaches and staff wear masks 100% of the time while inside our facility.


Q - Is my child required to wear a mask during gymnastics?

A - Yes, everyone entering the building over the age of 2 is required to wear a mask while inside the building, including during class.  A child may pull down and/or remove their mask while performing skills, if the mask will impede their safety, and they are socially distanced from others.  The provincial government guidelines do state that people engaging in a fitness or exercise activity are exempt from wearing a mask indoors to protect their health and safety while exercising. However, our local health unit requires that everyone inside the building is wearing a mask.  We ask that you please notify our office if your child is unable to wear a mask due to health reasons. 


Q - How do I drop off my child with the new protocols in place?

A - Athletes are required to line up on our red painted lines along the sidewalk at the main entry to our building until their coach comes to guide them inside. We are currently not allowing any spectators in the gym.  Pick up will occur in the same location. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact our office.


Q - How do I pick up my child at the end of class?

A - Recreational athletes will be entering and exiting using the same main door.  Parents may keep their distance while waiting outside, and once everyone has their shoes on and sanitized their hands they may be picked up. 


Q - How will my child's class vary from previous years due to Covid-19?

A - We are currently offering smaller class sizes, a reduced schedule, and extra cleaning measures to ensure the health and safety of all our athletes and staff.  Smaller group sizes allow for our coaches to ensure the athletes are keeping their distance while still having fun.
